This site was created using emacs on both Windows 2000 and Mandrake Linux.
The images on this site were created in The GIMP on both Linux and Windows NT.
I've gone out on a limb with this new site. I've decided to use Cascading
Style Sheets (CSS) for all the layout, and the Portable Network Graphics (PNG)
format for non-photographic images. Using CSS was mostly an exercise in
learning the stylesheet language. My decision to use PNG is mostly
political.
The machine which serves this site is named "pit", and is described on my Linux page. It's connected to the Internet via a 256Kb/sec SDSL connection, provided by the wonderful folks at ISpeed. The pages themselves are served up by Apache.
